Topics and agenda of the Swiss Security Network
The bodies of the Swiss Security Network are concerned with inner security issues and focus particularly on interfaces and collaboration between the Confederation and the cantons.
The bodies of the Swiss Security Network are concerned with security policy issues involving both Confederation and cantons. The goal is to reach a consensus and to work together with additional partners if required.
A topic is addressed if at least one of the following requirements is met:
- If it is relevant for a majority of the partners
- If the topic has a strategic dimension with political implications relating to security policy
- If coordination is called for between the Confederation and the cantons in a security policy issue.
The following topics are currently being pursued or processed:
- collaboration with the cantons in implementing the ‘national strategy for the protection of Switzerland against cyber risks’
- coordination of major exercises and planning of future security network exercises (SNE)
- implement the National Action Plan to prevent and counter radicalisation and violent extremism
- cooperation of civilian authorities and armed forces
- Coordinated Medical Service in the future
