Delegate for the Swiss Security Network

Martin von Muralt was elected as delegate by the Confederation and cantons. He acts as a mediator between the two sides within the network and manages the affairs of the political platform, the operative platform and the working groups. He also heads the operative platform, represents its interests in the political platform and implements its mandates. He is supported in his tasks by an administrative office.


Martin von Muralt studied Political Science at the University of Geneva and obtained a Master’s degree in 2001. In 2010 he passed the Advanced Federal Professional Examination for Police Officers and later underwent further training at various universities in Switzerland and abroad in the areas of project management, leadership, risk management and cyber security.


From 2001 to 2003 Martin von Muralt worked as a police inspector for the Geneva Criminal Police. From 2003 to 2011 he held the position of INTERPOL coordinator and was an investigator at fedpol. Between 2011 and 2016 he held the post of chief of staff, and from 2016 to 2019 was police commander for the region of Morges. From 2019 to 2021 he served as director of Champ-Dollon prison in Geneva.
